When a child is born, parents dream of hearing their first words. But for little Mykhailo, the path to those words turned out to be much more difficult. He cannot speak. Doctors diagnosed him with grade IV bilateral sensorineural deafness.
At the end of 2024, the boy received cochlear implants in both ears, and since then a whole new chapter in his life has begun – his introduction to the world of sound.
The voices of his loved ones, the sound of rain, birdsong, children’s laughter – every new sound is a small discovery and a great victory for him.
That is precisely why rehabilitation following cochlear implantation is so crucial. It helps the child not just to hear, but to learn to understand what they hear, to develop their speech, and to move confidently towards full communication with the world around them.
Thanks to the support of our benefactors, ‘Bonum Ukraine’ has funded another course of auditory rehabilitation for Mykhailo at a specialist centre.
The sessions have already yielded positive results, and
Mykhailo’s dad shares his thoughts:
“For me, every new success Mykhailo achieves is a great joy and an inspiration to keep moving forward. Thank you for your care, support and for giving my child the opportunity to develop and achieve new milestones.”
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the donors who contribute to #Bonum’s work. It is thanks to you that children are given the chance to develop, discover new opportunities and enjoy a happy future. Together, we are helping Mykhailo not just to hear sounds, but to discover a whole new world, and together we are helping with love!
The donation amount is non-refundable, and the funds are distributed among the foundation's projects
