Rehabilitation for Mykhailo from the Foundation!

Looking into Mykhailo’s sincere eyes, it is hard to imagine the price he pays for every smile.
He is battling congenital muscular dystrophy and contractures. This means that every movement he makes is not just a physical effort, but a true test of willpower. When his muscles won’t obey and his joints are stiff with tension, pain sets in. But this boy is not one to give up.
For Mykhailo, rehabilitation is not just about exercises. It is a way to manage the pain and prevent the illness from trapping his body in a vice-like grip. His willpower amazes even experienced physiotherapists: where an adult might give up, Mykhailo grits his teeth and carries on. He persists in pursuing his goal, despite fatigue and obstacles.
The boy’s family lives and breathes his struggle. They are his rock, walking this difficult path alongside him every day and devoting all their resources to easing their son’s condition. However, specialist rehabilitation requires funds that this family—which has been fighting for their child’s health for years—simply no longer has.

The ‘Bonum Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation has funded a course of essential therapy sessions for Mykhailo.
