The primary mission of the Bonum Ukraine Foundation is to save lives and help children with serious illnesses by providing them with the necessary treatment, medication and rehabilitation. This is where the majority of our work is focused.

However, sometimes circumstances force us to respond to very basic, yet critically important, needs. On this occasion, at the initiative of our partner, the ‘Velmart’ supermarket chain – which has supported the Foundation financially on numerous occasions – a one-off, non-standard humanitarian aid package was provided to families facing difficult life circumstances.

At a time when it was particularly cold outside and the question arose of how to keep the children warm, during a conversation with our partner we told them about families where the mother and children were literally freezing in their flat and had no way of quickly resolving this problem.

Therefore, a decision was made to purchase the necessary heaters for the family so that the home would be warm and the children could feel more comfortable.
Assistance was also provided to a mother raising two children on her own and lacking support from relatives, as she herself grew up as an orphan. We managed to prepare a large humanitarian package for this family: food, household cleaning products, hygiene items, electric blankets and bed sheets, as well as many other essentials for daily life.

We would like to emphasise that this kind of assistance is a one-off and atypical for our Foundation’s activities, as our main focus is on supporting seriously ill children. However, thanks to the initiative of a caring partner, we were able to respond quickly to the situation and support families at a time when it was particularly needed.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partner, the ‘Velmart’ supermarket chain, for their trust, compassion and willingness to help. Sometimes even simple things — warmth in the home and the essentials for daily life — are of immense importance.
