Together towards our goal: to help Iryna get out of her wheelchair!

Iryna was born with hydrocephalus and has faced difficult challenges from the very first months of her life. Operations, hospitals, pain… But despite everything, she is growing up to be a very bright, inquisitive girl. She loves history, nature and the theatre, and dreams of seeing the whole of Ukraine.

Today, Iryna gets around in a wheelchair, as severe pain in her knees prevents her from walking for long periods. To ease the pain and enable her to stand more confidently, the girl required a phased surgical treatment for equino-valgus deformity of the feet on both legs.

The Bonum Ukraine Charitable Foundation paid for Iryna’s necessary operation and purchased the required implants. The surgery was a success and Iryna is now recovering at home.
This is more than just medical care. It is faith in a child who was once given no chance, yet today this strong little girl continues to dream, learn and smile at the world, and is confidently moving towards her goal of getting out of her wheelchair
